No Mercy

" Anger is a form of energy and unless it is channelised properly it can destroy us " said Art of Living guru Sri Sri Ravishankar in a interview to a popular national daily recently. He further explained in a flawless manner that the best way to combat terror is not by violence. He may have reiterated his beliefs in age-old Gandhian ethos of ahimsa and non-violence.However as with any ideas, there are skeptics who'll remonstrate this. They have got a valid reason however in their disapproval. Sample this. Mohammad Afsal Guru, the mastermind behind the Parliament attacks of December 13th 2001 was found guilty and sentenced to death. But the execution is yet to take place and the terrorist is buying his time by seeking mercy. A couple of years ago the family of the terrorist filed a clemency petition with the then Indian President Dr Kalam. The family of one of the Indian jawans who attained martyrdom, launched a counter-attack and announced that they would return the medal (which was awarded post-humously) if the mercy-petition was accepted.

It is indeed outrageous that these savages are being considered for amnesty and worse still they have invoked sympathy from certain sections of the society. It is very rarely we manage to capture a terrorist alive from the scene of attacks and even rarer we garner enough evidence to nail him down. Isn't it disheartening that these terrorists are granted the same constitutional rights as the rest of the indian citizens? Should they have the right to appeal in higher courts or approach human rights organizations (who have a found a fancy in lobbying for extremists ).Its indeed well-known that there are so many loop-holes in our law-system ;stalling the execution by unwanted intervention will only help in sending wrong signals throughout the world that we are yet to adapt an iron hand in combating terrorism. Ahimsa and Non violence are best understood by human-beings who have a heart, love a motherland and have a compassion for fellow human-beings. I can't see how this can possibly work out with a terrorist ,who can hardly be classified as even human.

The lone terrorist who was captured alive in the recent Mumbaii terrorist attacks Ajmal Kasab was remanded to police custody and whose reported demand for non-vegetarian dishes was obliged by the officials . Kasab was also reported to be a fan of Amitabh Bachchan's name and kept saying his name.Well what next Mr Prisoner? A Direct To Prison set top box to watch your superstar's movies huh? Perhaps the only reason why consideration is being shown on this prize capture is he is of vital help in the on-going investigations process.

On a drier note ,for those who advocate mercy for terrorists, do consider the plight of suffering of Ordinary Citizens who apart from terrorist attacks are exposed to a plethora of miseries;Himesh Reshammiya's singing, T.R's Veerasamy , Captain's English and much more seriously studying in an engineering college in Tamil Nadu. When we are not shown mercy from the aforementioned onslaughts, should the terrorists be spared for heinous crimes??

no mercy? and yes... We arrest terrorists once in a blue moon. Then we release them under the name of mercy which is similar to "kasu koduthu soonyam namake vechikardhu" keep blogging
